Authorities in northwest New Mexico arrested the city manager of Aztec for alleged domestic violence. The Daily-Times reports 32-year-old Joshua Ray was arrested on suspicion of felony false imprisonment and misdemeanor battery against a household member after he allegedly held his wife Savannah Ray down and took her cell phone, computer and car keys.

Mountain lion kills family's dog

Police Capt. Randy Foster said that when Hari Viswanathan heard the family dog, named Gwennie, barking outside and found a mountain lion trying to pull it through wooden slats in the fence, he frantically tried to get the big can to let go and even hit it over the head with a shovel.
