ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – During the New Mexico State Caravan head men’s basketball coach Paul Weir talked about adding offense to his team. He did just that by snagging New Mexico Military Institute shooting guard Chance Ellis.

Ellis played his freshman year with the Broncos and averaged nearly 15 points per game. He also shot 41.8 percent from the field and knocked down 110 shots from the perimeter.

As far as Weir is concerned, he has picked up one of the best three point shooters in the country. Weir didn’t have to go far to get him, only to Roswell.

Weir wants to get his share of all good players in the area.

“Trying to attract the best players in the region, from the state and also regionally as well, and make top players in New Mexico want to consider us,” said Weir. “That’s the goal and to have a real in state base on our roster.”

The 6-foot, 5-inch Ellis is originally from Queens, New York.
