ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Kenny Thomas is holding basketball camp this week. The former NBA veteran and Lobo is teaching the game he loves from 9 a.m. to noon at Paradise Hills Community Center until Friday.

Thomas will hold another session at the Westside Community Center with the same times July 6 through 8, and July 13 through 15. The camps are for grades four through 12.

Thomas says it is his way of giving back to the community. Former Lobos Deshawn Delaney and Chad Adams are helping with the camp.

Thomas has been out of the NBA for six seasons and has since transitioned into everyday life. He has plans of opening a restaurant in his current hometown of Sacramento, California.

“The concept I got from Scottsdale,” said Thomas. “It’s called El Rey, that means the king. It’s tacos and stuff like that.”

When KRQE Sports asked Thomas if he could make tacos and if they are good, he responded by saying, “that’s what I got the chef for, man.”
