ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – State Championship tennis continued Thursday with singles play.

The Eldorado Eagles swept Class 6A.

Ivana Corley made it back to back titles among the girls. Corley dropped Caitleen Dennis of Hobbs 6-1,6-2.

The final in Class 5A was decided between Academy teammates.

Melissa Pick and Dani Apodoca met in the final with Pick, the top seed, defeating the two seed 6-0 and 6-2. Victoria Speziani of Hope Christian won the title in girls Class A 4A.

On the boys side of the net, Eldorado’s Michael Mounho defeated Sagar Patel of Hobbs 6-3 and 6-0. The win gave the Eldorado Eagles a boys and girls sweep.

In boys Class 5A, Academy teammates met in the final. Malachi Coleman overpowered Henry Collins 6-1 and 6-4.

The boys champ in Class A-4A has a familiar name. Warren Fulgenzi took care of Will McDermott of Santa Fe St. Michael’s. Fulgenzi won in two sets 6-3,6-0.
