ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)- The Lobos kept their momentum from last week’s win in Dallas, to defeat the Warhawks 59-17.
The University of New Mexico is now 4-3 overall on the season after the victory, and this one must feel good with how well their defense played.
The UNM Defense went on to only allow 235 total yards (115 Rushing, 120 passing). The Lobos had two interceptions and racked up five sacks in this game against ULM. The Offense was also running on all cylinders, as they racked up 476 total rushing yards.
They had multiple huge gains and long touchdown runs in this game. Leading the Pack was Tyrone Owens who broke off an 83 yard TD run in the 1st QTR, he finished with 171 yards and 1 TD.
The Lobos finished with 622 total offensive yards on the night, but did have some hiccups. They had four fumbles in this one with three ending in turnovers. Ten of the Warhawks 17 points came off of those UNM turnovers.
Still, it’s a big win for this UNM squad as a confidence booster, and keeping the momentum moving on in the conference schedule.
The Lobos take on Hawaii next, and that game is Saturday at 10 p.m.
