ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – When he first started his coaching career at Rio Grande it did not go well for Orlando Griego.
“We were 8 and 36 my first two years and, um, we got past that,” said Griego. “We have had success since then, and you just have to keep on fighting and never quit”.
Thursday night, Griego’s Ravens helped him reach a milestone in his coaching career. A 5-3 win over Manzano put Griego at 300 career victories.
“It’s God’s gift to me to come back to the South Valley and spend 20 years here. God willing if I stay healthy I would like to stay here another 20,” said Griego.
This year’s team has a 5-6 record and will play at Volcano Vista on Saturday.
