ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Holly Holm wanted redemption and a chance to get back on the winning track, instead, all she found was another loss.

Many fans did not stick around Spectators Sports Pub and Grill after seeing the outcome of the fight.

“You know it’s very disappointing. I think tactically, she was just a little too conservative,” said Charles Brown, a longtime fan of Holly Holm.

This is the first fight for the hometown hero after losing her title to Miesha Tate. Tonight, Holm was looking for a chance to put that fight behind her, but unfortunately, that was not the case.

Valentina Shevchenko stunned Holm, outpunching the former UFC Champion and took home a unanimous decision after five full rounds.

Even though the Albuquerque native suffered a loss tonight, many of her fans are still rooting for her.

“We’re still team Holly. Still Team Holly. Big supporters, we’re Burquenos ourselves, still Team Holly,” said Jackee Quinta.

Holm’s second consecutive loss drops her MMA record 10-2. It’s unclear what’s next for her or when she’ll get the chance to snap the losing streak.
