ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Holly Holm shocked the combat world when she scored a second round knockout of Ronda Rousey to become UFC Bantamweight Champion in November of 2015.

That victory has Holm nominated for an ESPY Award in the category of Best Upset. Holm lost her belt in her first title defense against Miesha Tate in March.

The 10-1 Holm will return to the Octagon for the first time since her defeat when she mets Valentina Shevchenko as the main event on a UFC Fight Night card at the United Center in Chicago July 23.

In the best upset category, Holm is up against the Middle Tennessee victory over Michigan State in the NCAA Tournament and Roberta Vinci’s U.S. Open win over Serena Williams.
