ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – When some of the former Lobos were asked who did they want to see play, many said Ruben Douglas. Respect for one of the oldest players participating in the first ever Lobo all-star game was obvious. The former NCAA scoring champ earned his respect the old fashioned way with an unforgettable 2002-2003 season.

During a four game stretch of that season Douglas burned opponents for 146 points. His regular season average of over 27 points per game when up during conference season to 32.1. He had 449 points in 14 conference games. He also had three games that season in which he scored 40 points.

When asked if he could still shoot the three well Douglas replied, “Yeah. I can still do that. It’s just like riding a bike.” Lobo fans will find out Sunday Night at WisePies Arena AKA The Pit. The All Star game has a 6 p.m. start time.
